Defined Crown — Eternal thought

This crown of mine, it doesn’t ever shut up.

The head and ajna centers are both defined in my bodygraph. This means due to the gates that are activated in both centers, there is at least one channel linking the two centers to each other. The energy centers of the body fascinate me, it’s one of the most captivating parts of human design to me. Hats off to the chakra system it developed from. Last night I watched a live study session where one person described what it was like to live with an undefined head. I’m paraphrasing here but they basically felt their head empty of thought more often than not, only to fill up and sometimes overwhelm them with thought when they were among other people and their thoughts. They enjoyed being away from people, because their mind could get a rest from constantly generating thoughts for processing the way defined heads would.

I felt jealous.

This crown of mine, it doesn’t ever shut up.

Now I try to meditate often. I enjoy it. I like contemplating as well. But very quickly into my meditative journey I realized I might never arrive at a state where there was actually nothing in my mind. I instead started interpreting “nothing” as focusing on my breathing or on any sounds I was hearing, or the feel of the world and wind on my skin, the sensation of my body at rest, in my clothes. I would usher my mind to these places, to give it something to latch on, because the emptiness of thought would only create space for more thought. It doesn’t ever shut up. I understand though that for both the defined and undefined there is pressure. Pressure to think or not think, pressure to express the thought or not, pressure to formulate opinions, arrive at answers, or not. I don’t imagine anyone truly has it easy breezy. Still, I am jealous.

I see our centers like networked communities with many internal and external co-working parts. There are some communities that are gated (defined), where all the resources they utilize are found within the gates themselves. Sometimes they luckily have roads (channels) to other centers to tap into resources they don’t have internally, but for the most part the community sources what it needs within it’s walls, and it is walled. Nothing comes in or out, and the channels and roads only lead to other centers, not external energy. You have to make more of an effort here to engage with external energy. On the flip side there are other communities that are ungated (undefined), receptive to all that travels through not only the roads (channels) of their body, but also the energy fields and auras of all that exists around them. While they are susceptible to all the energy available, they aren’t as readily able to utilize these energies the way a defined person could, just because of the skill that comes with regularly using something that you have direct access to.

What I love about this framework though, is that regardless what centers are lit up or not, what gates are activated or not, all 64 gates hold truths every single human being can learn to embody and express. The inactive gates are merely areas for growth and learning. You know, so we don’t get bored being alive.

When I was born, Gate 63 and 61 of the head and 24 of the Ajna were activated in the sky and my body’s design. the interpretation here is that I and others with these gates, have an affinity for the truths that lie behind the shadows in these specific gates. Consequently, I don’t have gates 64, 47 and 4 active, the last 3 that complete the links between Head and Ajna. That’s okay, I’m prepared to do more to learn here.

This is really all you need to know to delineate your chart by center, and make it practical. Is the center defined or undefined? How many gates are activated there? What channels do they create? What centers are they extending towards if there’s no channel? You can theoretically work your way down this list by practically starting from the gates you have active first. What are the shadows present there? Interrogate yourself. It truly is fun, even if it isn’t quick work.

For example, the shadow of my gate 61 is disorganized thinking and delusional beliefs (Psychosis). As a Pisces Sun x Saturn who’s very cautious about her mental health, I immediately furrow my eyebrows at this. But when I release the tension that gathers in me at that sentence, I am able to sit with the parts of it that are true. Like most people, I am not always aware of reality, and my parts in it. When I draw my mind to this while I am in motion, it’s then that I am able to feel inspiration and inspire others, which is the gift that lies behind the shadow. I can spin many words, and build the blocks of fantastical dreams and visions but there is a fine line between true inspiration and performing to cloak delusions. While I write this piece, if I focus on the views I will get, the compliments I might receive from whoever chances on this, or the internal satisfaction that I will emulate through mentally patting my back for once again being brilliant with words, I am not truly here with what is happening in this moment. I am not really here. You will be reading my words, but my thinking would appear disorganized and not in a cutesy way since I would be deluded about the impact of what I am actually doing. The bare truth is that all I am doing is sharing what I feel and think. When I remain here with the words, with the writing, it becomes something completely different, even when no one reads it. I might sway softly to the music coming out from my laptop, and adjust my posture when my body feels any strain. I might pause to think about the phrases I’m using, the words I choose, I allow myself to be honest and true, and less ashamed of what anyone could think about these words. Less ashamed, because there is still shame. There is shame because there are fears I haven’t yet arrived at the root of when it comes to my words and their communication. But as I continually unravel gate 61’s shadows within me, and step into its gifts, I inspire myself more and more. There’s many facets of the shadow I haven’t yet contended with but this isn’t quick work like I said.

That was an example of me taking one gate and looking inward. I can find this easier because this gate is active not just in my design side but on my personality side.

So there you go. You can be your own human design analyst if you really wish to do so. There are 64 gates and even if you worked on one for every month you would find an easier time as a passenger of your body in no time. DONT give yourself a time limit though, and don’t try to rush through a gate every month, that was just an example. I have been working on uncovering the shadows behind exactly 2 gates since early last year. Thats over 6 months LOL. I will probably be 87 when I-

That’s it, I’m innocence motivated and shouldn’t finish that sentence.
